Help us clean up the Guadalupe River Park trails!
Please note that:
- Volunteers must abide by all rules mentioned in the pre-cleanup safety talk
- Please bring a full water bottle (the water fountain will be unavailable for use at this time)
- Restrooms will not be available for use at this time
Please arrive on time as the safety discussion will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., and we will begin our walking cleanup shortly after.
We will be providing all necessary tools for cleanup as well as disposable gloves.
School groups or corporate teams must contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@grpg.org to schedule events.
We will meet at the bus loading zone between the Visitors Center and the PlayGarden.

Volunteer in the Heritage Rose Garden on Saturday mornings!
Help us get the rose garden back in shape with weeding, deadheading, pruning, and planting!
We suggest bringing: - A full water bottle - Thick work gloves
Chaperones are required for those age 15 and younger. Restrooms will available in the Rotary PlayGarden starting at 10AM.
Please note this event may cancel in the case of inclement weather.
School groups or corporate teams must contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@grpg.org to schedule events.

Plant Trees in the Historic Orchard!

Come volunteer in the Historic Orchard for a special tree planting day!
We will also be completing a wide variety of seasonal tasks including weeding, pruning, mulching, sunblocking, and fertilizing, among others. No gardening experience is required!
We will be meeting at the Picnic Area located in between the Heritage Rose Garden and the Historic Orchard.
In addition, please note that:
- You must bring your own work gloves suitable for working in a garden. Leather gloves are highly recommended!
- Please bring a full water bottle (the water fountain will be unavailable for use at this time)
- Restrooms in the Rotary PlayGarden will be available starting at 10 AM
Volunteers are asked to arrive by 8:45 for a contactless sign-in, workday instructions will follow. We will be providing all necessary tools for this event with the exception of work gloves.
School groups or corporate teams must contact the volunteer coordinator at gillian@grpg.org to schedule events. The ticket limit for this event is currently set at 3 tickets per group.

Sign your homeschool student up for environmental education in the Bay Area!
The CHIRP Program provides interactive, outdoor education while utilizing the Guadalupe River, Heritage Rose Garden, Historic Orchard, and park space as tools to teach a variety of environmental themes.
Students ages 5-12 build a community with one another by working together on experiments, observations, and hands-on activities with lessons encouraging students to form their own connection with nature while reinforcing environmental objectives and concepts. _________________________________________________________________ FEBRUARY THEME: Meteorology
WHEN: Weekly on Mondays from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Both age group sessions (5-8 and 9-12) will run concurrently.
WHERE: Guadalupe River Park Conservancy Visitor and Education Center located at 438 Coleman Ave, San Jose 95110.

UC Master Gardener Workday - Volunteer in the Historic Orchard!

Join the UC Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County for twice-a-month Historic Orchard workdays!
The Santa Clara Master Gardeners work with the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy in the Family section of the Historic Orchard on all aspects of fruit tree care. This includes summer and winter pruning, disease diagnosis and treatment, new tree planting, irrigation, sun scald prevention painting, and sheet mulching. It also includes establishing an insectary of native plants for pollination, experimenting with different types of irrigation or ground cover, and grafting for improved pollination. Master Gardeners give classes to the public on pruning and other topics related to fruit tree care in the family orchard. Any fruit is donated to organizations that serve the homeless and food insecure.

From hawks to buckeyes, small insects to giant herons, it’s always a fun day exploring at Guadalupe River Park & Gardens.
